Notre histoire

Our history

The association was born from the meeting between a trainer and learners in tourism equivalent Bac +3 Responsible for Territorial Tourism Development - Maria, Evie, Murielle, Bahia and Raude.

Through a common thread project, a real lack was identified and, as and when, practical cases carried out projects germinated to become the future missions of the TERA association.

While the territory has not yet taken its ecological transition turn, it is obvious that the tourist industry of Saint-Martin, the economic heart of the Caribbean island, must be the engine of this new path.

In a spirit of collegiality, the beginnings of an associative collaboration were formed.

And it is by taking into account this common vision annexed to the intrinsic skills of each that TERA was born.

Since then, TERA has been growing and building with the arrival of Jérôme, director of development.

Nos missions

Our missions

The island of Saint-Martin, located north of the Caribbean arc, offers a rich biodiversity capable of promoting nature-based tourism.

After a diagnosis, we find that, in a territory whose economic lung is the tourist industry, too few forms of ecotourism are practiced.

The protection of our environment is essential for:

  • our island security in the face of climatic events

  • our economic development through the lever of attractiveness

It is on this second point that Tera wishes to accentuate her actions.

For this the association wants to be the "Facilitator of Eco-Tourism".

And it is in this sense that we focus our actions in the short, medium and long term on 3 axes:
